It’s with great excitement that we share that, at tonight’s school board of directors’ meeting, Russ Hill was appointed as the new superintendent of the East Valley School District. Mr. Hill will transition from his current role as our assistant superintendent to this new position on July 1, 2021. The East Valley Board of Directors believes that Mr. Hill has the skills, drive and vision to continue the great work and upward trend in student growth and achievement that our district has shown over the last six years. He has demonstrated commitment to learning at high levels for all students and a dedication to supporting staff through his leadership throughout the district.
Mr. Hill began his career in the East Valley School District as a student teacher at Moxee Elementary in 1999. He then spent the next 15 years of service to students as both a teacher and an administrator at the elementary, middle and high school levels. He returned to East Valley to assume the role of assistant superintendent in 2015.
When asked what he’s most excited about as he begins this new journey, Mr. Hill says, “I am excited about continuing all of the great work that is occurring in EVSD and building upon that work for future student success…East Valley is an outstanding community and school district. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a dedicated staff, supportive community and outstanding environment...I couldn’t ask for a better place to be a superintendent.”
We ask that you join us in congratulating Mr. Russ Hill!
