Food Safety Alert
CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating a multistate outbreak of E.coli infections linked to romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, California growing region. CDC is advising that consumers not eat any romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, CA growing region.
While we do not serve romaine lettuce in East Valley, we do serve other varieties of lettuce grown in this region. As a precautionary measure, we have disposed of all lettuce and will not be serving any until after Thanksgiving break. When we return next week we will resume serving our students lettuce grown from another region not linked to this outbreak.
