Welcome to THE!
Dear Terrace Heights Elementary Community,
My name is Tami Scrivner, principal of Terrace Heights Elementary. It is an honor to be a part of the East Valley School District, and especially THE. I firmly believe our district is second to none in our Yakima Valley, and I enjoy working with the students, staff, and families of Terrace Heights!
Our mission is for all students to learn in a safe and caring environment. Students are more likely to achieve success when partnerships exist between home and school. We provide many opportunities during the year for families to be involved, and look forward to seeing you at those events.
Every day our students are actively learning in their classes. Please avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session, whenever possible. Missing just two days a month can significantly impact your child’s learning. Good attendance will help children do well in school, college, and work. If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to the classroom teacher, our counselor, or myself, for strategies to make him/her feel more comfortable, and excited about learning.
Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering at school. We have many opportunities, and welcome your involvement. Our Parent Teacher Association, PTA, is also always seeking parents to support their many activities throughout the year.
We are proud of the staff and students at Terrace Heights. Our school is a great place to be! The staff and students strive to teach/show PAWS behaviors, (Problem Solve, Accept Responsibility, Work Hard, and Show Respect). It is my role to support our learning community. I encourage you to contact my office with any questions or concerns you might have. My phone number is (509) 573-7820, or through our web site at www.evsd90.org.
