East Valley School District is located in Yakima County, Washington, just east of the City of Yakima. It encompasses the City of Moxee and portions of the unincorporated county, including the Terrace Heights community. The resident population of the East Valley School District is over 17,000. Our community has continued to experience significant growth in residential, educational (Pacific Northwest University), business, and industry over the past 10 years.
East Valley is primarily rural, situated in a valley surrounded by agriculture. Known as the hop production capital of the state and home to bountiful crops and vineyards, agri-tourism thrives. With abundant outdoor activities (hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and more) less than an hour away and four full seasons, East Valley’s central location makes it an ideal place to call home.
Principal's Message
Terrace Heights Families,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We are so excited you are part of our Black Bear community! Our staff is looking forward to seeing all the students again, and welcoming our new students.
This year we will continue with our Be Here, Be You, Belong message, as well as a focus on attendance. Working hard to be at school every day is beneficial to students, and contributes greatly to their success. We are aware that children do experience illness, so please keep students home if they are "big" sick. We will continue to encourage students to attend school regularly, and support in any way we can. ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Eating breakfast every morning is important for students, and gives them energy to focus on learning in the classroom. Breakfast is available to all students before school, and we encourage our students to eat breakfast every day (whether at home or at school). Our staff is excited to see students in the cafeteria each morning, greeting them, and helping them to have a great start to their day.
We are committed to supporting the students of Terrace Heights Elementary, and building partnerships with the families of our students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our school office with any questions or concerns.
Looking forward to continuing our work together for the remainder of the school year!
